About

Groundglass Casting is a premium casting company located in Toronto, Canada, known for our ability to uncover real people with real stories. Unlike traditional casting companies, we don’t rely on a database of actors. Instead, we take a customized approach to each project to ensure we deliver the right people.

We pride ourselves on the ability to think outside the box, adapt quickly, and fulfill every challenge thrown at us. Amputee athletes, Syrian Refugees, multi-generational immigrant families, LGBTQ couples, highland dancers and 70-year old axe throwing women are just some of the real people requests we’ve delivered on.

Andrew Deiters – Owner

Andrew founded Groundglass in 2015 with a simple purpose- to help clients create successful content by finding the best people and stories.

Andrew got his roots in storytelling as a photographer.  To subsidize his art habit, he began his career in film and television, working in the camera department on numerous scripted productions ranging in budget from Costco muffins at craft services to $300-million feature films with surf & turf lunches.

Missing unscripted storytelling and still trying to figure out how to make a living, he changed direction in the industry and pursued documentary television production.  It was during this period of his career that he honed his casting skills, specifically the real people/real story finding specialization that Groundglass is known for.
