Andrew created Groundglass in 2015 with a simple purpose- to help clients find the best talent, or let’s be clear, BTE© (Best Talent Ever)
Andrew got his roots in storytelling as a photographer, back when film was made of wood, or ok, still film. To subsidize his art habit, he began his career in film and television, working in the camera department on numerous commercials and scripted productions including Battlestar, Smallville, Supernatural, X-Men 3 and Fantastic Four.
Years later, still trying to figure out how to make a living & have fun doing it, he changed direction in the industry and pursued unscripted television production. It was during this period of his career that he honed his casting skills, specifically the authentic ‘real people’ casting Groundglass is known for.
He continues to have fun.
MATT JENSEN, CASTING ASSOCIATE
With a performance background and 10+ years experience in casting, Matt brings a unique eye to Groundglass. He enjoys working with actors, typing emails at record speed and eating smoked meat sandwiches.
PAUL VILLENAVE, CASTING ASSISTANT
An essential part of the team (his words), Paul joined Groundglass in October 2022, bringing his experience and enthusiasm from France to the Toronto film industry. A York University Film graduate, Paul is known in the office for his high espresso and Perrier consumption and his hilarious jokes (his words).
